Support at Home program

The Support at Home program provides government-funded home care across multiple levels of support. Funding can be used to access clinical supports, personal care and independence services, and everyday living assistance.

Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)

The CHSP is a government-subsidised program designed to assist older Australians who are beginning to experience difficulty with everyday activities and require entry-level support to remain living independently at home.

  • Available to Australians aged 65 and over (or 50 and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people)
  • Eligibility assessed through My Aged Care
  • Also available to people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or on a low income

Home and Community Care for Younger People (HACC PYP)

In Victoria, the HACC PYP provides basic support and maintenance services to assist people under the age of 65 who are living with disability to continue living independently at home.

  • Available to Victorians under 65, and Aboriginal people under 50, who need assistance with daily activities
  • Low to high care needs supported
  • Additional fees may apply based on individual circumstances and financial assessment
